Book #62: Home Alone by Todd Strasser

Image
Home Alone Todd Strasser   Released: January 1st, 1991 My 5th book for 2025 was Todd Strasser's “Home Alone”. I love Home Alone!  Half my Christmas this year was a treasure trove of Home Alone gear, books, and other things.  It was an absolute blast.  I've been on a bit of a Macaulay Culkin kick lately.  I read " My Girl " which was based on the film he starred in back in August.  I saw the Home Alone movies again over the holidays.  Then I read his book " Junior " earlier this month.  Now this one.  I also have Daniel Stern's book "Home and Alone" on tap as well. I watch Home Alone every year during the holidays.  Sometime between November 1st, and December 31st, I always watch the first two Home Alone movies.  It's become an annual tradition for me.  Something about the original 2 movies feel like childhood memories.  Especially the first one.  It's a bit strange in a way.  I didn't have 15 people in the...

Who Wants To Be Me? Regis Philbin   Released: September 26th, 2000 My 4th book for 2025 was Regis Philbin's “Who Wants To Be Me?”. I can't tell if I'm more excited or sad to be reading this book.  I have absolutely loved every book I have read from Regis.  He is so full of life, entertaining stories, motivating material, random life happenings, all sorts of good things.  This was his second book.  (I know, I read them out of order).   If you haven't read any of them yet, I strongly encourage you to check them out.  His first book "I'm Only One Man" chronicles his life in the style of a journal or diary from late 1993 to early 1994.  The second book, "Who Wants To Be Me?" talks about various stories as he continues his story from morning TV talk show host to late night game show host.  His final book " How I Got This Way " details various stories of his life based on people he has known who have influenced him for better or for wor...

Book #60: “The BFG” by Roald Dahl

The BFG Roald Dahl   Released: January 14th, 1982 My 3rd book for 2025 was Roald Dahl's “The BFG”. Alrighty!  60th book reviewed! (And yes, for those counting, I know not all of them have been released yet).  #AchievementUnlocked.  Does anyone even hashtag things anymore?  I still do it in everyday conversation, and the younger generations look at me funny.  30's are a tough decade of life.  Oh well. My friend Johanna sent me this one for Christmas.  I decided to read it, review it and give them a big shout-out.  Thank you! I finished " Junior " in the Carlisle Starbucks and immediately jumped right into this one.   It's funny, there's several Starbucks around, but the only sit-down one is a small shop over on the other side of Target.  There's plenty in the Targets and Giants, but it's branded differently.  It's the stores "featuring" Starbucks products.  I ended up going to this one because I miss my PNW vibe...
